Why drink lemon water? Well...according to research, the health benefits of lemons are truly amazing! Here are a few:

Lemon juice is very similar in atomic structure to saliva, hydrochloric acid, bile and the stomach's other digestive juices.* Lemon helps to relieve symptoms of indigestion, such as heartburn, belching and bloating

Lemon water has an alkalizing effect on the body. Increasing body alkalinity is one of the key benefits of drinking lemon water. In turn, unhealthy bacteria and virus are eliminated because they are unable to survive in alkaline enviroments. For a sore throat- gargle with lemon juice diluted half and half with pure water.
I drink 1 quart of lemon water every morning, before anything else. Thus the lemon's purifying abilities are at it's best- when your stomach is empty. Here's what I do:
In 1 quart of pure water, mix the juice of 1 fresh lemon, and 8-10 drops of pure stevia leaf extract.
The stevia leaf extract is optional...adding stevia leaf makes it taste more like lemonade, and lemon water without sweetener is often too sour for most people.
